Christy Clark violates NAFTA, on BC Foreign Tax,will repeal if voted in Victoria- BC Peoples Party

Written by admin on Jul 29th, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases

Vancouver BC. Diana Maddison. Premier Christy Clark, has levied a penalty tax forcing non-Canadian purchasers of residential real estate in Greater Vancouver Regional District to pay additional 15 percent tax on all purchases registered effective August 2,2016. This penalty tax discriminates by definition and violates the North American Free Trade Agreement ( NAFTA) and other Canadian trade agreements which prohibit Provincial governments from imposing discriminatory policies that punish American and Mexican Citizens. other Foreigners while exempting Canadian Citizens. NAFTA national treatment obligation requires that citizens from other NAFTA partners investing in B.C. receive the same treatment from the BC Government as the very best treatment received by Canadians. Americans and Mexicans forced to pay the 15 per cent penalty tax would be able to pursue direct compensation for B.C.’s discriminatory tax from an independent International Tribunal.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will face a legal challenge on his relations with United States and Mexico, which BC Premier Christy Clark’s government has violated. Canada’s Foreign Minister Stephen Dion, will raise objections to the penalty of 15 per cent next week, as per NAFTA Agreement.

British Columbia Peoples Party, president Vikram Bajwa, is the only Political Party, which is against the 15 percent penalty tax on foreigners. Bajwa claims ” BC Liberals fell into the Trap laid by NDP”, on affordable housing, which they have ignored for the last 7 years”. In 2015 Real estate, residential and commercial purchase in Greater Vancouver and Mainland areas, namely cities Vancouver, Victoria, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, New Westminister, Burnaby, Abbottsford, was 94 Billion dollars, with Foreign purchase a mere $ 1 billion dollars, “where is the fear of Foreigners buying British Columbia”, exclaimed Bajwa. NDP is racking up the issue as they have no other agenda for the provincial election in 2017 and B.C.Liberals, have lost the LNG Dreams for providing jobs in BC. “We will repeal the Foreigner 15 per cent tax if voted to power in 2017”, said Bajwa, while providing a strong plan for affordable housing. BC had surplus budget of $ 730 Million in 2016 but less than $ 10 Million, for affordable housing.

Researchers Suspect that the Launch of Western Civilization Came with a Soundtrack

Written by admin on Jul 28th, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases

The pursuit of supernatural sound effects may be what drove the building of the first megalithic monuments and subsequent changes that shaped our world.  Archaeoacoustics: a new multi-disciplinary field of study provides a compelling understanding of what sound and music were doing for people in the ancient world.  By relating the world’s oldest monumental sites, their artifacts and cultural traditions related to the use of sound, a history-book-changing picture emerges about ancient human development.

Many laypeople may see the word “archaeoacoustics” as a typo, unaware that this intricate new field of study holds the key to understanding the world’s oldest monuments and the people who launched western civilization.  It’s the study of sound as it relates to the ancient world, and pioneering researchers are passionate about harnessing its power.

Ancient societies have left us clues in architectural components and art that are pure expression in their own prehistoric language, but it isn’t easy for us to read.  With the study of Archaeoacoustics, the world’s oldest buildings, from Gobekli Tepe in Anatolia to the megalithic temples of Malta to the passage tombs of Ireland and dolmens of Portugal are examined with scientific data from the realms of Archaeology, Architecture, Anthropology, Genetics, Physics, and Physiology.   Fascinating pieces of evidence can be set side by side, resulting in a stunning premise that not only goes where no one has gone before, but has big implications for how we might be able to reclaim ancient knowledge for productive use today.

A number of international conferences and field expeditions have brought together data that weaves an intricate ancient tapestry in a way never previously explored.  Linda C. Eneix, conference organizer and editor of proceedings, feels that modern compartmentalization of specialized knowledge has unintentionally handicapped our understanding of one of the most pivotal times in the human story: the agricultural revolution that fostered settlement in towns and eventually cities: a change that sparked civilization. “The most significant factor in this field is its multi-disciplinary aspect,” explains Eneix, “a phenomenon that at first seems like pseudo-science to an archaeologist becomes abundantly clear when it is explained by a physicist.   A rock art specialist can help us see details that could easily be overlooked by the untrained eye.  Something that musicologists have known for years takes on new meaning when it is applied to ancient social structure and lifestyle.”

Archaeologist Dr. Fernando Coimbra agrees, “The multidisciplinary character of Archaeoacoustics can provide a deeper insight, providing a better knowledge of the past, a better understanding of the present and a better planning of the future.”  Coimbra recognizes a new direction for interpretation of heritage sites.  “In the last years,” he says, “Archaeoacoustics has been contributing with important data in order to understand better several social aspects of past communities, when studying, for example, the acoustic properties of some places, sound frequencies and acoustic phenomena, among other aspects. Indeed this helps to explain the role of sound across History and its effects on the human brain and consequent behavior of individuals and societies. “

The next international multi-disciplinary conference on Archaeoacoustics will be held in Tomar, Portugal in October 2017.  Registration is open to non-presenting observers.  Archaeoacoustics III is organized by  The OTS Foundation, The Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Portugal, The Instituto Terra e Memória (ITM)  and The Geosciences Centre of Coimbra University.  Details can be found online: website

(Miami) – HistoryMiami Museum is pleased to announce the 2016 recipients of the prestigious Legal Legend Award for 2016. Now in its 8th year, the Legal Legend Award is bestowed on those lawyers, judges, and community activists who have made substantial contributions to the law, legal system, and administration of justice in South Florida for at least 25 years.

This year’s Legal Legends include:

Honorable Gill Freeman: A retired Judge who served on the 11th Judicial Circuit for nearly two decades, Freeman is highly regarded for her legal knowledge, fairness, and as a champion for diversity. Before the bench, she practiced securities and family law, helped created Florida’s Gender Bias Commission, and chaired the Supreme Court Fairness Commission. After her judicial appointment, she was selected as the first judge to preside over the 11th Circuit’s Complex Business Litigation Section, led efforts to save and enhance the courthouse law library, and regularly taught at judicial college, including chairing the Advanced Judicial Studies program.

Honorable Melvia Green: Green is the definition of a trailblazer. After serving as the first black woman Assistant US Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, she helped establish the Dade County chapter for the National Bar Association of Woman Lawyers (now known as the Gwen S. Cherry Black Woman Lawyers Association). She then served as a County Court Judge before her appointment as the first black woman Circuit Court Judge in the State of Florida. She has been the only black woman to serve in that capacity in the 100-year history of the 11th Judicial Circuit. She was then appointed as the first and only black woman to serve on the Third District Court of Appeal. Before her retirement in 2008, her distinguished judicial career spanned twenty-two years.

Alan Greer: Throughout his forty-seven year career, Greer has not only distinguished himself as one of South Florida’s leading commercial litigators, successfully handling the area’s most significant cases, he has also been dedicated to public service, providing countless hours of pro bono work to the community. Apart from his recognized exemplary professionalism, he has been selected for inclusion in the world’s most prestigious trial lawyer organizations, including the American College Trial Lawyers and International Society of Barristers.

Honorable Roberto Pineiro: A graduate from Duke University School of Law, Pineiro served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 11th Judicial Circuit, where he tried his first jury trial at the age of 22. After time in private practice and further service as a state and federal prosecutor, Pineiro was appointed a County Court Judge in 1989 and then a Circuit Court Judge in 1996. Known as one of the 11th Circuit’s brightest, fairest, and most efficient judges in over two decades on the bench, Pineiro presided over some of the most emotional and highly scrutinized cases until his untimely passing at the age of 56.

Herman Russomanno: Russomanno is widely known as one of the toughest and most successful trial lawyers, representing the community’s most prominent figures. Among his several recognitions are Florida Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates and professionalism awards from numerous organizations. Russomanno is also an effective leader, having served as the President of the Florida Bar and of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers, among others.

Joseph H. Serota: In 1991, Serota founded one of the most successful and well known firms in South Florida, now known as Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman. He has successfully represented both public and private entities in some of their most significant litigation matters in South Florida and has received a multitude of accolades and honors from numerous professional organizations. Serota’s litigation record is surpassed only by his record of community service. He chaired or led a litany of important legal and community organizations, including the Centennial Celebration of the 11th Judicial Circuit and the Dade County Community Relations Board, and was instrumental in the restoration of important historical aspects of the Dade County Courthouse.

The award recipients will be honored at a special awards ceremony and reception at HistoryMiami Museum on November 3, 2016 at 6pm.

Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are available now. For more information about the Legal Legends Awards Dinner, call Hilda Masip at 305-375-1618, email , or visit .

PITTSBURGH, July 28, 2016— Lianhua Qu, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer of Crystalplex Corp. will present developments of a stable and resilient Sapphire™ quantum dot matrix with optoelectronic applications at the 26th International Liquid Crystal Conference (ILCC), July 31 – August 5, 2016 at Kent State University in Ohio.

Dr. Qu, one of the most cited authors on the topic of fluorescent nanocrystals (quantum dots), is the presenting author for “Development of a Highly Stable and Thermally Processable Sapphire™ Quantum Dot Polymer Matrix Using a Two Prong Approach” on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Registered participants can also speak with Dr. Qu at the Crystalplex exhibition during the show.

Co-authored by Hunaid Nulwala of Liquid Ion LLC, Matt Bootman and Ken Acer, both of Crystalplex, the presentation will detail the beneficial properties of the newly developed supporting matrix which maintains optimal quantum dot (QD) spacing to maintain quantum efficiency.

The matrix attaches to the proprietary aluminum oxide outer coating of each QD. This optically transparent Sapphire™ shell protects and isolates each QD from the degrading effects of humidity and oxygen, important to meet the demanding requirements of optoelectronic applications.  Crystalplex Corp. has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for this Sapphire™ shell technology applicable in both cadmium-containing and new cadmium-free QDs.

The Sapphire™ shell provides strong surface binding sites for custom polymers which have been synthesized at Crystalplex and Liquid Ion, leading to the efficient dispersion of QDs in a polymer matrix. Other supporting structures like fumed silica show promise for dispersing QDs in optical grades of silicone.

“I’m looking forward to sharing recent developments made by the Crystalplex team that enable polymer-QD composites to withstand thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion processes without a decrease in quantum efficiency or photostability of the nanocrystals,” said Dr. Qu. “We think innovations like the Sapphire™ shell and our custom polymers provide many opportunities in the optoelectronic markets.” Dr. Qu holds a doctorate in physics from Jilin University in China and conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Arkansas and Emory University.

Crystalplex CEO Matt Bootman continued, “The development of thermoplastic polymers with QDs is certainly a breakthrough for us. Equally important are the QD/silica composites which have been successfully dispersed in two-part thermoset silicones, opening a world of possible applications in optoelectronics.”

Crystalplex Corp. is a private firm with 12 years of R&D directed to quantum dot technology.  The company maintains a fully integrated synthesis and pilot application plant in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

The Sanction: Counterterrorist Operative Jennifer Steele is Back, in a Blistering New Novel from Walter Blair. Thriller Fiction Has Just Gotten Chillingly Vivid…

Written by admin on Jul 27th, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases

Having already taken the literary world by storm with ‘Presidential Approval’, Walter Blair is back, with heroine Jennifer Steele in tow, as readers are once again invited to glimpse into the lives of those who give everything to keep them safe. Steele is stoically mourning a family tragedy, caught in a confusing dilemma about her own future with the CIA as a Special Operative – yet still weighed down by her responsibility to keep New York City and its people safe. Fiction doesn’t get more real than this.

For Immediate Release

Washington, D.C.  – While most new authors use their debut release to do nothing but simply test the literary waters, Walter Blair quickly proved that a debut novel is also an opportunity to rival a genre’s bestsellers. ‘Presidential Approval’ shot to critical acclaim and may well become a national bestseller, also introducing the world to Jennifer Steele, a heroine bolder and braver than James Bond could ever wish to be.

She is now back in volume two of her trilogy, ‘The Sanction’. Directly paralleling the real world, the new novel comes at a time when international terrorism continues to be rife, and thousands secretly work through their own adversity to keep the nation safe.

In ‘The Sanction’, Jennifer Steele, a CIA Special Operative, in the second book of this trilogy is as lethal as James Bond, but far more attractive. She is faced with a dilemma regarding her future as a CIA Special Operative juxtaposed with the sadness one would expect considering her family tragedy from which she still mourns.
When duty finally calls occasioned by additional threats from terrorists who once again attack New York City, Jennifer and her team, consisting of Omar Washington, David Wilkins, and Juan Ramirez, are deployed into action which might very well claim their lives.

To complicate matters, Jennifer Steele reunites with the one man who could also hold the key to ending her loneliness and suffering. Is he the one?

While the CIA struggles to maintain the upper hand against terrorists who seek to destroy New York City, among other U.S. cities, Jennifer and her team are required to follow every lead, both national and international, to solve the problem and keep the citizens of the Big Apple safe.

In this thriller, the author presents Jennifer Steele in the second novel of the trilogy as a steadfast counterterrorist.
The Special Operatives who make up Jennifer’s unit are tested beyond all expectations as time runs out for the residents of Manhattan. They are deployed to prevent a disaster that could exceed the ferocity and death-toll of 9/11.

“My first novel, ‘Presidential Approval’ did better than my wildest dreams could ever have imagined,” admits Blair. “It quickly picked up pace internationally, and truly may become a global bestseller. Jennifer Steele resonated extremely well with readers so I wanted to waste no time in bringing her back into their lives. This story once again mirrors the terrorism threats and activities running rampant in the real world. The final installment ‘Project H₂O’, is two years away. See it as a cocktail of fact and fiction with a grey area that can be extremely hard to recognize.”

Continuing, “I’m presently at my writing desk completing a gripping novel titled ‘West Point’. The story takes readers to Germany where a very attractive colonel, Jane Sherwood, disappears after a night out on the town with five male officers also stationed at the U.S. Military Base in Frankfurt.  Jane is never seen again.  Now back in the U.S. all five of Colonel Sherwood’s fellow officers are murdered one after another. The one thing they all have in common with Jane Sherwood is that they were all once cadets at West Point Military Academy. Stay tuned, because this mystery thriller is coming into your hands sooner than you think!!”

In the meantime, ‘The Sanction’ is available now:
