CrowdRiff to Launch Hotel and Resort Software Product at HITEC 2016

Written by admin on May 31st, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases

TORONTO, ON, May 31, 2016 – CrowdRiff is a visual influence platform that enables travel and hotel companies to find the best images and videos on social media, then use this content for the brand’s marketing needs. Seamlessly integrating with any digital channel including a property’s website, the software harnesses the power of authentic, user-generated visual content to make a brand the authority on its local area and drive engagement.

CrowdRiff is already a tremendous success for DMOs and CVBs, in use by over 100 destinations across North America, the Caribbean and Australia – including Destination Canada, Nassau Paradise Island, Tourism Colorado, Travel Portland and Destination New South Wales.

With over two years of experience working closely with destinations, CrowdRiff is confident that its new product will meet the specific needs of hotel and resort properties.

The official unveiling will be at HITEC 2016, the world’s largest hospitality technology tradeshow, held this year in New Orleans, LA, from June 20th to 23th. This is the first time CrowdRiff will exhibit at HITEC, and it will be an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate how the platform leverages social media to increase purchase consideration.

CrowdRiff works by searching and compiling all visual content related to a specific topics, keywords and locations from social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter into one cloud-based collection. From there, hoteliers can choose the best photos or videos to display in any marketing channel to add an authentic view of their property and region to potential guests.

CrowdRiff’s display system abides by every social network’s photo-sharing rules so hoteliers can safely integrate this content into their websites. However, should a hotel want to leverage the social content in advertising, they can effortlessly secure rights to social content with the built-in rights management system.

“We’re thrilled to be working with hotels and resorts where there is unquestionably a need for dynamic visuals that tell real stories,” said Dan Holowack, CEO of CrowdRiff. “It’s now commonplace for travellers to seek out authentic photos on social channels to see what a property and area have to offer before booking. CrowdRiff integrates the best visuals shared on social media onto your website so guests don’t have to look anywhere else. Your website is instantly more captivating and guest friendly without the need to purchase photos, hire models or plan photo shoots.”

In addition to the official launch at HITEC 2016, CrowdRiff is already in the final stages of completing several hotel installations.

Vancouver BC. Canada. Sunil Gupta. India’s reputed newspaper Times of India reported, a story released by Punjab Police and Government of Punjab, linking Hardeep Singh Nijjer, a Surrey BC, based Plumber, with plotting extremism in Punjab. Government of Punjab has forwarded an Application to Government of India, seeking his extradition, in 2007 Bombings in a Movie Theatre in Ludhiana, where 7 people were killed.
Another Canadian Resident Mandeep Singh was arrested 2 weeks ago in Punjab, who has stated, Nijjer’s plans of fear of Terror, being practiced in Mission BC.
Canada’s Federal Public Safety Minister Raplh Goodale, refused to comment on the veracity of the Times of India story or any other information received from Govt.of India on Hardeep Singh Nijjer’s extradition.
British Columbia Peoples Party President, Vikram Bajwa, in Vancouver however has come in support of Hardeep Singh Nijjer’s case stating “Nijjer has no criminal record in Surrey BC or anywhere in Canada, we will object to any Extradition Application, for any innocent BC Resident, by any Foreign Government”. Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner only recently expressed her anguish, regarding shootings in Surrey, but RCMP has no history on Hardeep Singh Nijjer, ever since he moved into Surrey and is residing, since 1995. Liberal Member Sukhjit Gill, feels ” this is politically motivated due to Punjab Elections in 2017″.

The Big Move: Life Between the Turning Points

Written by admin on May 31st, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases
We have very few accounts of gerontologists who have grown old, and never before a memoir by a gerontologist who moved into a long-term care facility. This book is not only a first, but is a remarkable and riveting account of challenges all of us must contemplate.”–Rick Moody, AARP, Emeritus VP

Anne M. Wyatt-Brown, Ruth Ray Karpen, and Helen Q. Kivnick Afterword by Margaret M. Gullette

Order now at
When her husband’s ill health forces them to move into an assisted living facility, Anne M. Wyatt-Brown suddenly finds herself surrounded by elderly residents. In this lively and provocative collection, other distinguished gerontologists reflect on Anne’s moving account of her transition to becoming a member of a vibrant and sociable community that offers care-giving support, while encouraging her to pursue her own interests, including exercising, reviewing articles for scholarly journals, serving on committees, and singing.

By redefining notions of care and community, undoing the stigmas of aging, and valuing the psychological factors involved in accepting assistance, this volume provides a bold new framework for thinking about aging, continuing care, making the big move to a retirement community, and living with vitality in the new environment.

“We Americans prize independence, but for many elderly people, the price they pay for independence is loneliness and worthlessness. The Big Move is a fascinating attempt to marry personal experience with academic analysis to help us all reconceive of one option for later-life living. Moving to a continuing care retirement community need not be viewed as a withdrawal from life, but rather as a new platform to manage one’s infirmities at the same time as one uses one’s skills.”
—Ruth Nemzoff, Huffington Post

“Readers will be drawn to this book for its clarity and candidness. It will appeal to people of all ages, but especially to the large cohort of readers aging into later life and facing important choices about their own care and that of their partners.”—Barbara Frey Waxman, author of To Live in the Center of the Moment: Literary Autobiographies of Aging

“If you want to know in detail what it’s like to live in a continuing care community, read this slender volume. Culture critic Margaret Morganroth Gullette, whose books argue that our experience of aging is dictated more by our ageist culture than by our biology—and who blogs for SCF—contributes an afterword. Among many other things, she writes that:

Many of us in the midlife cohorts are stubbornly behaving as if we could remain outsiders [to old age] forever. I can’t help recalling Ian, a character in Anne Tyler’s 1991 novel, Saint Maybe. A man of scarcely 40, Ian suddenly feels in a bar that he was very likely the oldest person present:

He looked down at the hand encircling his glass—the grainy skin on his knuckles, the gnarled veins in his forearm. How could he have assumed that old people were born that way? That age was an individual trait, like freckles or blond hair, that would never happen to him?” The sooner we figure out how to be old, wisely and kindly, as life changes us, the better off American society will be. This is precious knowledge in the era of the New Longevity.”–from the Review by Flora Davis,  “Aging in Place, Is it a Pipe Dream?” Silver Century

Lipstick Mountains Press Gets Bronze 2016 eLit Award for Erotic Fiction, “Chelsea Matinee – Memoirs of an Easy Woman” by B. K. Smith.

Written by admin on May 30th, 2016 | Filed under: Press Releases

B.K. Smith authors “The Lipstick Mountains Memoirs” in which Chelsea Matinee is #1 in the series. Sands Point – Memoirs of a Money Trader is #2; Rattle Snake Lodge – Memoirs of a Seeing Woman is #3. The newest addition, Second Chance Ranch II – The Meaning of Ordeal is #4, and will be out summer 2016.

Lipstick Mountains Press is a boutique press. It publishes fiction and photography. It is a division of Madison Avenue Publishers, a small, cottage industry publishing house.

The 2016 eLit Award is dedicated to honoring the best e-books published each year for the entire North American market. Smith says to place third in erotic fiction in a very competitive market is a thrill, because she set out to write the “cleanest dirty book ever.” For something to be erotic it must be forbidden. As we mature as readers, the visuals matter more and more until the only stimulant that will do is the suggestion. In book #2, Sands Point – Memoirs of a Money Trader, the writing style is more descriptive and straightforward. It is a story of deception and Wall Street drama.

Each book stands alone with a different cast of characters. They are contemporary female heroes: complex, flawed and steeped in strength, curiosity, sexuality and intellect. The author is skilled in capturing the spirit of these women, portraying them as sympathetic, tragic and darkly powerful. Attention to small details is what elevates these stories. Each scene is painted in vivid color, and it is easy to lose yourself amongst the powerful imagery. The writing is poetic, rhythmic and verily voluptuous.

B.K. Smith has done a very difficult thing–created a body of work in which each story is a narrative that is rich and full and blissfully decadent, but also has substance. The books deal with themes modern women will identify with such as learning to master the skills required to navigate a world of powerful men, where they must balance sex and purity along with faith and reason in order to own their femininity and vulnerability, and ultimately emerge as intelligent, thoughtful, and capable women. Brilliant and evocative writing; this romance noir is classy, sexy and seductive.

(Pssst!) Wanna Save $100,000 on a Custom Home?

Tennessee Couple Says, “Yes,” to Modern High-Tech Option

“There were a lot of mechanical engineering reasons for why we chose that home.”

— Jerry McKibben, retired engineer

Paris, Tenn., May 26, 2016 — When it came time to retire in this modest town perched near the Kentucky state line, Jerry and Karen McKibben put their professional career experiences to work finding the perfect home to fit their needs.

He was an engineer, and she was a customer-focused inside sales rep. They had lived in all kinds of houses over the years, from conventional site-built abodes to a 20th century-style trailer house that was already on the land they bought in rural Tennessee.

But as it turned out, Tennessee’s little Paris, with its scaled-down replica of the Eiffel Tower and its claim to fame as home of the world’s largest annual fish fry, proved to be the perfect place to find the custom home of the 21st century — hiding in plain sight along Paris’ so-called “mobile home row.”

Of course, there have been no mobile homes built in the U.S. since June 1976, when new federal standards ushered in the era of the modern HUD-code manufactured home. So what the McKibbens found was an array of retailers with dozens of different models of contemporary factory-built homes on display.

They settled on an upscale, residential-style manufactured by Sunshine Homes, which they discovered at Paris’ Arrowhead Homes center.

Do they love their new home? Let them count the ways:

Energy Efficient

  • “Right now we’re totally electric and the bills have plummeted,” says Karen McKibben, the bill-payer of the household.

High Quality

  • “The kind of construction, the methods of construction, the materials that were used, the appliances — all those things … in my opinion make a manufactured home the better choice,” over conventional on site building, says Jerry McKibben, the engineer.

Beautiful, inside and out

  • “It is difficult to tell it from any home out there — stick built or otherwise,” he added.

And then, there is the price tag: $80,000 for a high-tech home that would cost $180,000 for a comparable site-built model.

“If more people knew the standards and quality of the manufacturing of manufactured homes, then a lot more people would buy,” says Karen McKibben.
