TourRadar is officially running their first free, worldwide Online Travel Expo starting January 23rd, 2016 exclusively at http://www.tourradar.com/online-expo.

“This Online Travel Expo aims to inspire people to travel,” said Christian Wolters, North American Managing Director at TourRadar. “We want to show people what they can do, see and experience all while making the process easier and offering them the best discount possible – up to 50% off.”

The Online Travel Expo will feature exclusive travel discounts from top operators worldwide. Astak and CV Squared To Launch CV2 (Computer Vision + Connected Vehicle) Platform

Written by admin on Dec 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

The CV2 platform integrates computer vision, telematics, and data analytics to enable customers to truly benefit from connected vehicle applications, including but not limited to vehicle accident prevention.

San Jose, CA – December 30, 2015 – Astak Inc. (“Astak”) and CV Squared, Inc. (CV Squared”) today announced a partnership to release the CV2 (computer vision + connected vehicle) platform to help drivers and fleet managers prevent costly traffic accidents and achieve enhanced operational efficiencies. The partnership combines Astak’s market leadership in consumer and industrial connected cameras and dashcams, and CV Squared’s vision and technical expertise.

The CV2 solution platform consists of in-vehicle units (called CV2::Vu) and the cloud platform (called CV2::Cloud).

CV2::Vu, equipped with the computer vision engine and an array of sensors, feeds environmental context, driver behavior, and telematics data continuously to CV2::Cloud via 3G/LTE mobile networks for subsequent analysis and feedback. CV2::Vu also issues a variety of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) warnings/alerts to vehicle drivers on the fly. The ADAS features delivered by CV2::Vu are more meaningful and effective than those by conventional ADAS – thus the next generation ADAS features – by having CV2::Vu and CV2::Cloud work together.
CV2::Cloud accumulates and organizes environmental context, driver behavior, and telematics data, presents them in Web-based dashboards, and runs the data analytics engine in the background. The data analytics engine will enable the development of predictive models that can help enhance driver safety and open up many other possibilities for connected vehicles applications.

“CV2 achieves the convergence of computer vision, vehicle telematics, and predictive data analytics in the most effective way and will demonstrate how such convergence would benefit vehicle drivers, fleet managers, insurance companies, and regulators by helping reduce the risks of traffic accidents; it would also serve as a platform to enable and facilitate the development of connected vehicle applications of great commercial potential,” said Dr. Michael Suh, CEO of CV Squared. “While there are quite a few telematics service providers in the market, they leave much to be desired in terms of their capability to capture and utilize environmental context information and driver behavior data, which in our opinion are of far greater value. CV2 gleans environmental context information and driver behavior data through its computer vision engine, and uses them in innovative ways to help prevent vehicle accidents, improve vehicle-related efficiencies, and offer other services the customers would find highly beneficial.”

“We are pleased to partner with CV Squared to offer the CV2 platform to consumer market,” said Simon Wang, Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Astak. “As a leading vendor of consumer and industrial connected cameras and dash cams, we’ve been keeping a keen eye on the latest trends in IoT and connected vehicle applications and the customers’ growing acceptance of ADAS solutions. We believe that CV2 represents a logical next step for telematics services and ADAS, which have evolved as disparate solutions and have their respective deficiencies. Our customers are eager to try the CV2 platform because they so clearly see the benefits of CV2.”

Astak and CV Squared will conduct a series of field trials of CV2 in collaboration with a few regional fleet operators during 1Q2016, and anticipate full commercial launch in 2Q2016. For fleet market, the CV2-based services will be offered on a subscription basis. For consumer market, CV2::Vu will initially be marketed and distributed as stand-alone solution by Astak.

Treatment for Concussion is available all over the USA (if you know where to look)

Written by admin on Dec 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

Brain injury due to concussion (TBI) has been in the media lately thanks to the movie CONCUSSION starring Will Smith, but the missing piece is treatment – no media attention to that aspect. Cutting edge evaluation and treatment strategies have not been brought to the public.  Many people continue to suffer because they and their doctors are unaware and they have not been treated.

With a TBI taking place every 20 seconds in the USA,  you or someone you know has experienced a concussion and not fully recovered.  Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy [HBOT] promotes brain healing through mechanisms of suppressing inflammation, increasing by 20X the amount of oxygen available to injured brain cells, growth of blood vessels and new neurons, promoting stem cell mobilization, and direct cellular healing through increased oxygen delivery. Put simply, HBOT increases a wide variety of beneficial brain-healing processes and interrupts destructive processes in  the destructive “Neurometabolic Cascade of Concussion” like inflammation and cell death. Researchers have an accumulation of before and after brain scans and videos demonstrating the positive healing effects of HBOT for concussion.

Modern medicine struggles with treating physical brain injuries, these “invisible wounds,” because of the desire to find a magic pill never mind decades of the myth that there is no treatment and that most concussions heal on their own. Sadly, the standard protocol for Concussions and TBI is “watchful waiting.” If you are less fortunate you get applied with psychoactive medications be they black boxed antidepressants or other invasive procedures.

Despite all that has been learned in the last few decades, the standard of care for concussions around the world remains “watchful waiting”.

Even basic nutrition advice – never mind brain-food supplements such as omega 3 fish oil, is still not provided for TBI victims –  it is straight to a prescription antidepressant, if watchful waiting doesn’t work. Multiple concussions are additive in the context of acceleration of damage. Research all over the world, especially in the USA, is showing how multiple hits to the head, whether from sports or war, leads to degenerative brain damage, depression, dementia and/or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

But there is a treatment – in multiple peer-reviewed journals and articles worldwide, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been shown to help in the healing of underlying brain injury typically suffered in mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries, of which concussion is a sub-set.

Much more about HBOT and treating TBI/PTSD/CTE can be found at the website of the Hyperbaric oxygen Clinic of San Francisco:  www.hbotsf.org .

This hyperbaric oxygen clinic is part of the Azzolino Concussion Clinic where TBI victims are evaluated using vanguard modalities and treated with an array of effective interventions. But there are hyperbaric chambers all over the USA, and they could be getting used to treat TBI yet they are not.

Drs. Stoller and Azzolino advise the One Hit Away Foundation in the Bay Area  which helps sports related TBI victims.

Stephen Shaya, M.D was nominated and sponsored by Princess Maria Amor.   On her part, Princess Maria Amor said, “As the Minister of Cooperation of OSJ Knights of Malta, it is one of my duties to protect the honor of the Order by nominating new postulants who have the ability to support the mission and vision of the Order.  Stephen Shaya, M.D. embodies the qualities of a true Knight, I believe he is a great addition to the OSJ Knights of Malta and I am honored to nominate him to receive such a noble title”. She added, “I am also very thankful to Dr. Shaya and the J&B Medical for their assistance in fulfilling the health cause of our organization, even in Malta. They are indeed a true supporter and friend of We Care for Humanity.”

Order of Malta or Knights of Malta, is a Roman Catholic lay religious order of, traditionally, a military, chivalrous and noble nature.[5] It is the world’s oldest surviving order of chivalry.[6] The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is headquartered in Rome, Italy, and is widely considered a sovereign subject of international law. They are modern continuation of the original medieval order of Saint John of Jerusalem,[8] known as the Fraternitas Hospitalaria and later as the Knights Hospitaller, a group founded in Jerusalem around the year 1050 as an Amalfitan hospital to provide care for poor and sick pilgrims to the Holy Land. After the conquest of Jerusalem in 1099 during the First Crusade, it became a military order under its own charter. Following the loss of Christian held territories of the Holy Land to Muslims, the order operated from Rhodes (1310–1523), and later from Malta (1530–1798), over which it was sovereign.

Although this state came to an end with the withdrawal of the order from Malta due to the advances of Napoleon Bonaparte, the order as such survived. It retains its claims of sovereignty under international law and has been granted permanent observer status at the United Nations.[9] The order is notable for issuing its own international passports for travel, postal stamps, along with its formal insignia, often portrayed as a white or gold Maltese cross. The order nominally invokes the Blessed Virgin Mary under the venerated Marian title of “Our Lady of Mount Philermos” as its patroness and spiritual intercessor.

Today the order has about 13,000 members, including Knights and Dames as well as auxiliary members; 80,000 permanent volunteers; and 20,000 medical personnel including doctors, nurses, auxiliaries and paramedics in more than 120 countries.[3] The goal is to assist the elderly, handicapped, refugeed, children, homeless, those with terminal illness and leprosy in all parts of the world, without distinction of race or religion.[3] In several countries—including France, Germany and Ireland—the local associations of the order are important providers of first aid training, first aid services and emergency medical services. Through its worldwide relief corps—Malteser International—the order is also engaged to aid victims of natural disasters, epidemics, and armed conflicts.

In February 2013 the order celebrated its 900th anniversary recognizing the Papal bull of sovereignty “Pie Postulatio Voluntatis” formally issued by Pope Paschal II on 15 February 1113, with a general audience given by Pope Benedict XVI[10] and a Holy Mass celebrated by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone at Saint Peter’s Basilica

Dr Shaya noted “only 61 Fortune 500 Companies that existed in 1955 are around today. The average life expectancy of a Fortune 500 company used to be 75 years. Today the average is 15 years and declining every day. Companies will need to innovate and constantly reinvent themselves. The leveraging of data and information will be integral to this constant transformation and no greater opportunity exists than in health care.”

Health Net Connect Provides Virtual Care Technology to Help M.E.R.C.I’s (Medical Emergency Relief for Christian Iraqis) Humanitarian Efforts

Wixom, Michigan:  Health Net Connect is providing its virtual care technology to help support M.E.R.C.I’s efforts in four cities in Iraq where there are large concentrations of Christian refugees.  “By utilizing our technology, refugees will have access to medical care virtually from providers across the globe,” said Stephen Shaya, M.D., EVP of J & B and HNC, who recently spoke at a M.E.R.C.I event.   He also quoted Mother Teresa.  “There are no great things, only small things with great love.”

CAAHP is a nonprofit and nonpolitical educational organization which was founded in 1999 to support Chaldean health care providers. Made up of physicians, pharmacists, dentists, nurses, and other allied health professionals of Chaldean descent, the CAAHP serves as a professional forum offering education, networking, and community service opportunities.  With the blessing of the Catholic Church and Bishop Francis, the Chaldean American Association for Health Professionals  (“CAAHP”) has formed the Medical Emergency Relief for Christian Iraqis (“M.E.R.C.I.”) committee.  The mission of this committee is to provide emergency medical services and supplies to persecuted and displaced Iraqi Christians.
