Pharmacovigilance Market Expected to Reach USD 6.10 Billion Globally in 2020

Written by admin on Oct 31st, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

Pharmacovigilance Market (Phases of Drug Development: Preclinical Studies, Clinical Trial Phase I, II, III & IV or Post Marketing Surveillance; Type of Methods: Spontaneous Reporting, Intensified ADR Reporting, Targeted Spontaneous Reporting, Cohort Event Monitoring, & EHR Mining; Type of Service: In-House & Contract Outsourcing) – Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast, 2014 – 2020

The Global pharmacovigilance market was valued at USD 2,426.6 million in 2013 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 14.2% from 2014 to 2020 to reach USD 6,104.1 million in 2020.

Growing pressure on the pharmaceutical industry to detect early signals of drug disasters and interactions, rising concerns regarding public safety issues and stringent regulatory inspections have fueled the growth of the global pharmacovigilance market. A number of high profile drug withdrawals in the past few years have prompted various biopharmaceutical companies to follow the guidelines of Good Pharmacovigilance Practice (GPvP) in order to maintain their reputation and position in the global market. Various factors such as early detection of suspected as well as unsuspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs), prevention of unnecessary hospitalization of patients and increasing number of clinical trials are expected to drive the growth of the global pharmacovigilance market from 2014 to 2020.

The phase IV clinical trial or post marketing surveillance segment accounted for the largest share (over 60%) of the pharmacovigilance market in 2013, as this stage involves active and systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of data pertaining to the marketed drug. Continuous assessment of benefits and hazards associated with drugs in order to reduce health risks is also expected to drive the growth of the segment. However, the phase III clinical trial segment is anticipated to grow at the highest CAGR from 2014 to 2020. Requirement of risk assessment studies during the crucial stages of clinical drug development, assessment of medication errors and development of comparative safety data are the major factors attributed to the high growth of the phase III clinical trial segment.

Among the various methods conducted for pharmacovigilance, spontaneous reporting method held the largest share in 2013 and is expected to witness steady growth during the forecast period. Factors contributing to the growth of this segment are facilitation of detection of previously unknown effects of a drug by providing information from real life clinical events and relatively inexpensive nature of the reporting method. Moreover, spontaneous reporting method generates safety signals effectively by detecting new and rare ADRs.

Based on the nature of services, pharmacovigilance activities are performed either in-house or are outsourced to contract outsourcing service providers. The contract outsourcing segment dominated the market, accounting for a share of over 50% of the pharmacovigilance market in 2013. The segment is also estimated to grow at a higher CAGR, as contract outsourcing is deemed a cost-efficient solution that uses the expertise available with the contract research organizations (CROs). Moreover, pharmaceutical companies opt for outsourcing pharmacovigilance services to various CROs in order to reduce the workload and provide more development opportunities to their employees. This is likely to propel the growth of the contract outsourcing service segment during the forecast period from 2014 to 2020.

In terms of regional market analysis, North America accounted for the largest share (over 35%) of the global pharmacovigilance market in 2013 due to increasing clinical research activities and presence of large-scale research units in the region. Additionally, rise in mortality due to adverse drug reactions is propelling the growth of the pharmacovigilance market in North America, especially in the U.S. According to the U.S. FDA, over two million serious ADRs and approximately 350,000 adverse drug reactions occur in nursing homes in the U.S. each year; these could be prevented if proper drug safety measures are followed. On the other hand, Asia Pacific, including countries such as Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, India and China, is witnessing rapid growth and is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of over 13% during the forecast period due to large skilled workforce and constant challenge to harmonize pharmacovigilance system in developing economies. Furthermore, increasing government initiatives to spread awareness about the safety and efficacy of drugs would trigger the growth of the pharmacovigilance market in Asia Pacific.

The global pharmacovigilance market is highly fragmented. The impressive growth of the pharmacovigilance market is likely to attract various BPOs and CROs to the market. Major players operating in the pharmacovigilance market are Covance, Inc., PAREXEL International Corporation, Quintiles Transnational Holdings, Inc., F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Cognizant Technology Solutions, Accenture plc, Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC, (PPD), GlaxoSmithKline plc, Novartis International AG, and Wipro Limited.

Is Lyme Disease an Ignored Pandemic?

Written by admin on Oct 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

A seemingly stealthy pandemic of epic proportions, causing untold misery and suffering for millions, thrives amidst a culture of politics, greed, corruption, and arrogance. Endemic in many parts of the world Lyme disease and its associated co-infections doesn’t even exist in the minds of some in the medical community, can’t be easily diagnosed, treatment regimens are often confusing and not evidence based. When treatment is attempted it is often inadequate or substandard leaving many with chronic persistent infections.

A corkscrew like class of bacteria called Borrelia, the most infamous being the versions that cause Lyme disease, is totally out of control with as many as a third of the country already infected. While many can remain relatively asymptomatic for decades, others will suffer horribly until their abbreviated lives are ended by this infection. Those who beat the odds have Alzheimer’s disease to look forward to, because apparently what everyone has been calling Alzheimer’s disease is a neuroborreliosis.

That means Alzheimer’s disease isn’t really Alzheimer’s disease – but a Lyme infection in the brain. Modern medicine seems to have a problem understanding that many so-called auto-immune illnesses from arthritis, Crohn’s, Lupus, and MS, just to name four, may be due to an infection be it mycoplasma, Borrelia, mycobactrium or an unrecognized retro-virus.

Graft and incompetence at the CDC have guided the medical community right off the cliff where today many physicians wouldn’t know how to diagnose Lyme disease with any accuracy if they even believed there was such an illness, because there are those who deny its existence, and almost no one in the medical community knows how to treat it.

The wrong academicians have been put in charge of studying this illness (IDSA) and setting policy; furthermore, the wrong people are working at the CDC. Even though Lyme disease does not fit a vaccine model, the potential windfall from a vaccine as corrupted the entire effort to help people with this disease. No wonder Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. calls the Vaccine Division of the CDC “a cesspool of corruption” and “a snake pit of Big Pharma lies.”

The article, OVERVIEW OF LYME DISEASE: A CRITIQUE OF AN IGNORED PANDEMIC, was published in International Journal of Current Advanced Research at the end of October (

Its author, K Paul Stoller, MD, has been warning about the devastation being caused by this disease for many years.

Dr. Stoller wirtes, “Modern medicine has failed miserably to meet the needs of the millions infected. If all the obfuscation surrounding Lyme disease has something to do with the lack of some big company being able to take financial advantage of the crisis then that would be sad and a reflection of our dysfunctional approach to reality, hopefully that is all that this is about.”

K Paul Stoller, MD, was a board certified pediatrician for over two decades, but today operates the Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinic of San Francisco (

Re-Release of The Regulators: Hell On Earth Part One Announced

Revised Edition Ready To Be Unleashed

Wahoo, Nebraska, October 30, 2015 – Man Cave Creative Arts & Entertainment Group has announced that a revised edition of the book released last year, The Regulators: Hell On Earth Part One has been in the hands of a professional editor for several months and is now ready to be released as a Revised Edition. The two book set, The Regulators: Hell On Earth went into publication on April 1st of last year but performed poorly, in part, due to the inability of the author to afford having the two books edited. The original project was the first successful attempt at getting a writing project into print in thirty-six years of trying. The author, Douglas H. Youngs chose to self publish the books with the Amazon company, Create Space Publishing after years of trying to draw the attention of traditional publishers as a first time writer.

After a year and a half The Regulators: Hell On Earth now includes the words “Revised Edition” in the title. “When the book was first published it was not affordable to have it edited but that has changed and the book is new, starting over with a new cover look to go with the editing and what is there now is a book that people will enjoy a great deal”, the author said. Scott Rutherford, a former writer for the online news source, The Inquisitr, volunteered his services as editor and according to him, “the Regulators is a good story that could be great” and now the first part is ready to test that idea.

The series sequel titled The Regulators: Hell On Earth Part Two is in the process of being edited and will be finished by the end of the year. The release date for the revised edition of Part One is October 31, 2015 and the release date for the revised Part Two is currently set for December 31, 2015. Next year a third installment of the Regulators series will be released with the title, The Regulators II: Out Of Time Part One. No release date has been set as yet and that news will be coming early next year. The series is expected to cover nine books total

Man Cave Creative Arts and Entertainment Group has also released a book of short stories titled Safe In My Imagination this year by the same author, which was done quietly without fanfare

Keeping the Home Fires From Burning: Fire Safety and the Modern Manufactured Home

Written by admin on Oct 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) preemptive federal construction standards makes modern manufactured homes safer as well as affordable.

LAKELAND, Fla. October 30, 2015 — Studies show that manufactured homes built after federal standards were imposed in 1976 are more fire resistant than comparable site-built homes — and three times safer than pre-HUD code mobile homes.

The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), Fire Analysis and Research Division’s John R. Hall, Jr., authored a report entitled Manufactured Home Fires. That study and the experience of expert Martin Montgomery, Professional Engineer with RCS Enterprises, LP, as well as other industry professionals are considered.

The NFPA report determined that manufactured homes are as safe or safer than conventional, on site-built, construction. Hall’s study also details data that concludes that manufactured homes are some three times safer than the mobile homes of 40 years ago.

But no residence is completely fire proof, and as we enter the winter fire season, everyone should be armed with the latest fire safety information.

In Keeping the Home Fires From Burning: Fire Safety and the Modern Manufactured Home, award-winning consumer reporter Jan Hollingsworth takes a look at the debate over mandatory sprinkler systems and the human factor that contributes to the majority of home fires.

Sprinklers are an option that homeowners can choose to have installed, says Deanna Fields, Executive Director of the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma. “Some of our factories incorporate sprinkler systems in certain areas of the house, such as the kitchen or furnace, if the consumer wants to pay for it,” she says.

Disabled smoke alarms, overloaded electrical circuits and improper use of cooktops and ovens for heating lead the list of seasonal fire risks, which are often mitigated by post HUD-code escape windows, flame-resistant wall coverings and stringent construction standards that transformed the infamous tinderboxes of old into today’s durable factory-built homes.

Hall’s report explains that “A manufactured home is not a motor home or a trailer, and although it is often called a “mobile home,” it is not that either.”

Keeping the Home Fires From Burning smokes out the myths and the realities of fires and modern factory-built homes, offering timely insights for
reducing the risks this fire season. ##

President Obama Recognizes The PhD Project for Commitment to Action as Part of White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics

Written by admin on Oct 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

Montvale, NJ. October 30, 2015- The PhD Project, an award-winning program to create a more diverse corporate America, is proud to join the nearly 150 public and private sector organizations who answered the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics’ 25th anniversary call to action. President Obama announced these Commitments to Action, with a collective investment of nearly $340 million, which will build on and accelerate federal, state, and local investments in high-quality education, from cradle-to-career, for the nation’s Latino community.

The PhD Project was also chosen by The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics’ Bright Spots in Hispanic Education to be included in their National Online Catalog. The Initiative seeks to leverage these Bright Spots to encourage collaboration between stakeholders focused on similar issues in sharing data-driven approaches, promising practices, peer advice, and effective partnerships, ultimately resulting in increased support for the educational attainment of the Hispanic community.

“It is an honor to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the Initiative’s 25th anniversary with the release of nearly 150 commitments to action that will help strengthen the educational outcomes and opportunities for the Hispanic community,” said Executive Director Alejandra Ceja. “These commitments will bring critical resources to Latino students and families across this country, are examples of meaningful investments being made in support of the largest, youngest and arguably the fastest growing minority community in the country and will help fulfill America’s future.”

As part of its Commitment to Action, The PhD Project will utilize its network of over 1,600 minority business faculty and doctoral students (this includes 423 Hispanic-American members) to enhance outreach to Hispanic-American students enhancing their completion rate. The PhD Project Committee on Hispanic Excellence, co-chaired by Dr. Cinthia Satornino and Dr. Rebeca Perren, will formally recruit Hispanic-American business professors to serve as mentors to these students with the purpose of facilitating the students’ successful completion of their undergraduate and graduate degrees through one-on-one mentoring. The Hispanic-American mentors will also “plant the seed” encouraging these students to consider a career in business academe, thereby creating a new generation of Hispanic-American mentors, and increasing the reach of the program exponentially each year.

“We are very proud to be chosen as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education and one of the Commitments to Action. White House data projects that there will be 3.9 million Hispanic students pursuing Bachelor’s degrees by the year 2023,” said Bernard J. Milano, President of The PhD Project and the KPMG Foundation, co-founder and lead funder of The PhD Project. “It is of vital importance for collaborations such as these to aid students and create more opportunities for them to succeed.”

The PhD Project, a 501(c) (3) organization that the KPMG Foundation initiated in 1994, recruits under-represented minority professionals from business into doctoral programs in all business disciplines. Since its inception, The PhD Project has been responsible for the increase in the number of minority business professors from 294 to 1,299. Further, 309 minorities are currently enrolled in doctoral programs, and will take a place at the front of the classroom over the next few years. The Project attacks the root cause of minority under-representation in corporate jobs: historically, very few minority college students study business as an entrée to a corporate career.  Diversifying the faculty attracts more minorities to study business and better prepares all students to function in a diverse workforce.

The PhD Project has received ongoing support from its sponsoring companies, participating universities and organizations, and supply alliance members. Its founding organizations in addition to the KPMG Foundation, are the Graduate Management Admission Council, Citi Foundation, AACSB International. The leading corporations, foundations and associations funding it include:  300+ Participating Universities, AICPA Foundation, DiversityInc, Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, Rockwell Collins, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., American Marketing Association, John Deere FoundationCIGNA, ADP, Edison International (on behalf of the California State University System), Lincoln Financial Group, Aerotek/ TEKsystems (operating companies of Allegis Group), American Accounting Association, The Hershey Company, Academy of Management, NASBA and OCWEN.

New 22,000 Square-Foot WestCare Facility to Aid in Relief of Mental Healthcare Access & Care During Crisis Situations

(LAS VEGAS) — It’s no secret that the mental healthcare sector in southern Nevada is often overwhelmed by the number of people seeking immediate crisis services verses the number of available facilities to meet this need. WestCare Nevada today announced a facility designed to combat some of that strain: the WestCare Community Triage Center and Community Involvement Center. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 22,000 square-foot renovated building took place on Oct. 28 at the building, located at 323 N. Maryland Parkway near 13th Street.

The center is divided into two sections – a crisis portion and a community resources area – and will provide a variety of services. Among the services are: prevention education; outreach; outpatient counseling; substance abuse outpatient treatment; mental health services; and assessment intake. The Community Triage Center provides safe, medically supervised detoxification services and triage services for people with mental health issues.

WestCare President and CEO Richard Steinberg said the new Community Triage Center will help alleviate much of the overcrowding that hospital emergency rooms experience when first responders bring individuals there who need immediate mental health attention. Rather, the new center will allow paramedics and police officers a place to transport individuals seeking mental crisis help. Following assessment, WestCare professionals will then either intake the patient or direct and facilitate the patient’s relocation to other facilities.

“We are always looking for new ways to serve the community and underserved populations,” said Steinberg. “This new facility will be open to anyone who is battling addiction and mental health issues. We are proud to be a light in the dark for those who are suffering.”

WestCare Nevada is partially funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Nevada’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency, Clark County, City of Las Vegas, the Veteran’s Administration, Nevada Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services.

About WestCare

WestCare Foundation was founded more than 40 years ago in Las Vegas with the goal of “uplifting the human spirit.” The non-profit provides a variety of programs across the continuum of health and human services. Every doorway into a WestCare program is designed, not only to lead to solutions for the presenting issue, but also to be a first step toward identifying other potential complicating and co-occurring factors impacting the life of individuals as a whole. WestCare’s trauma-informed, person-centered continuum of care spans 17 states and two U.S. territories and is recognized for clinical excellence, coordinated access and collaborative innovation.

Addressing the issues of substance abuse, mental health disorders, homelessness, domestic violence, criminal justice, HIV/AIDS, and Veterans support, WestCare offers services such as: outpatient and residential treatment; women and children’s programs; education/prevention efforts; emergency shelters and transitional living services; Veterans programs; mental health services; and community triage centers.  For more information, visit

Cycling Fusion®, The Tour de Cure, and Diesel Club Lounge Set To Dance On The Pedals For Charity

Written by admin on Oct 30th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

An indoor cycling event featuring a virtual cycling video and live DJ with 50 bikes on the dance floor. The after party will turn to dancing with the entire event open to riders and non riders alike.

Pittsburgh, PA, October 30, 2015Cycling Fusion, bringing indoor and outdoor cycling together, today announced that the Diesel Club Lounge has graciously provided their DJ and dance floor for the first ever virtual cycling event to be held in a night club on Tuesday, December 1st at 6:30pm with an after-party to follow the ride till 11:00pm.

This event is another first from local long-time entrepreneur Gene (Gino) Nacey, who is using his cycling training company to generate contributions for the American Diabetes Association’s 2016 Tour de Cure.  For as little as $20 per hour, anyone can participate in the 2 hour ride where you’ll be “dancing on the pedals” for a good cause.

This event also kicks off the promotional efforts to get both indoor-only and outdoor cyclists to train together this winter for the same event. Both venues (indoors and out) will simultaneously hold their Tour de Cure fund raising ride during the summer of 2016 in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DC, Cleveland and Chicago.

Cycling Fusion has a reputation for helping beginners and intermediates move from “exercising” on the bike to “training” for bike events or competition. The programs are designed to be conducted indoors via either live web-casts, or on-demand videos of cycling instructors and coaches leading and teaching bicyclists how to train.   Both commercial facilities and single individuals may access their content, whether in a room full of riders on stationary “spin bikes” or in an individual’s basement on a bike with a trainer.

“We are very excited to be holding this event at Diesel. I’ve danced there, done Yoga there, and now will be spinning there! I just love how this company wants to be a part of the community in so many unique ways. We are also excited that this year our multi-city partnership with the Tour de Cure will begin with these other cities joining us remotely to kick their season off as well. said Gene Nacey, CCO and founder of Cycling Fusion.

This year we have also brought in additional cycling studios to help us with both the kick-off and the overall effort to support the Tour de Cure. There will be 50 available bikes to ride from three different studios; Axel Fitness out of Fox Chapel, Revolution Cycle from Pittsburgh, and Alpha Tennis & Fitness (Cycling Fusion’s bikes). Each studio will also share some of the ride leading as well.

Cycling Fusion will be donating 100% of the proceeds to the 2016 Cycling Fusion Tour de Cure team. Last year Cycling Fusion raised more than $10,000 and with the expansion to multiple cities in 2016, this fund raising should be well exceeded. In fact, Cycling Fusion has agreed to contribute $100 to any rider’s fund raising account if they sign up to ride in the 2016 Tour de Cure and participate in the 12 week Winter Training program, on the night of the event.

As an integral part of the fund raising strategy is the assistance in training Cycling Fusion will provide with their nationally recognized 12 week Winter Training program. This program will be held at multiple Indoor Cycling studios and health clubs throughout each of the participating cities from January through March of 2016. It has been considered the key to a successful riding season by every level of rider who has taken the program.

“The structured training, with its slow, steady and scientific approach, sets this 12 week program apart from every other training system I have been involved with. It literally works for every level of rider from beginner to competitive rider. said Joe Stabile, Co-Chairman of the 2016 Pittsburgh Tour de Cure.

The 2016 Tour De Cure will be held on July 17th starting at Seneca Valley High School. It is one of the most forgiving charity rides of significant length with multiple routes from 10 miles to 100 miles.

“We were blown away by the work Cycling Fusion did in 2015 with forming the largest team the Pittsburgh Tour has seen, raising over $10,000 and creating an entirely new event for the indoor-only riders. Now with this Virtual Charity Ride option and Winter Training in multiple cities in 2016, we see their impact on supporting the vital work of the ADA going to the next level for sure. We are so grateful for their dedication to Stopping Diabetes!” said Shannon Davis, Manager of Fundraising and Special Events, Tour de Cure.

CINCINNATI, OH – OCT 29 – MN8 Foxfire, UL-certified developer of photoluminescent safety products, today was recognized as one of the “Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America” by Entrepreneur magazine’s Entrepreneur360™ Performance Index, a premier study delivering the most comprehensive analysis of private companies in America. Based on this study forged by Entrepreneur, MN8 Foxfire is recognized as a company that exemplifies growth, not just in top and bottom line, but in sustainability and ability to achieve lasting success.

“Foxfire is steadfast in creating a scalable and sustainable business, and committed to making the firefighting industry – and those they protect – safer,” said Zachary Green, CEO of MN8 Foxfire. “We are honored to be listed among the ‘Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America,’ and thank all our firefighter brothers and sisters for supporting us and Entrepreneur for recognizing the hardworking entrepreneurs that make up the fabric of American business.”

“Those honored have identified problems in the world, come up with a solution no one else ever dared, and built their enterprises around it,” says Ryan Shea, president of Entrepreneur Media. “They’ve accomplished new ways of producing sustainable growth and are an inspiration to others who want to fulfill their own entrepreneurial goals.”

MN8 Foxfire’s photoluminescent products illuminate zero-light, smoke-filled environments on firefighters’ helmets, tools and equipment to increase accountability and decrease disorientation, reducing the most common problems firefighters encounter that can lead to serious injury and death. Both energy-efficient and cost-effective, Foxfire’s photoluminescent products illuminate in total darkness with some emitting an afterglow of up to 80 hours after charging in any light source for seconds. Lumaware is the company’s safety and egress division. After serving more than 65,000 firefighters in over 25 countries, MN8 expanded into providing commercial buildings, sports arenas, universities, hotels and more, with photoluminescent emergency egress systems and exit signs, including a UL-approved exit sign that requires no batteries, electricity or testing.

Through in-depth surveys, the team of editors and researchers behind the E360 Performance Index collected more than 250 pieces of data from hundreds of participating U.S. based companies, focusing on growth drivers and challenges, goal setting, resource allocations, and reward systems. Written by admin on Oct 29th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

The new reports in the Quest Trend Magazine identify three new tendencies in the internationalization of the worldwide automobile production. Beyond that the worldwide auto production since 2007 is recorded without China leading to surprising result.

The worldwide ten largest car manufacturers are according to the current denominations of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles, Paris (OICA) Toyota, VOLKSWAGEN, GM, Hyundai, Ford, Nissan, Fiat Chrysler, Honda, Suzuki and PSA. The internationalization of their production has reached a level that half of these world market leaders are producing more in another country than in the homeland.

The mutual market penetration of these world companies is intensifying as a new tendency. It shows up in the fact that on the one hand GM produces more cars in China than in its homeland the US; on the other hand Honda produces more cars in the USA than in its homeland Japan.

The report to these new tendencies as well as the worldwide production shares of each of the ten world market leaders in the comparison of the years 2014 and 2000 is available on

The worldwide leading automakers could increase their world market share to 71.8% from2013 to 2014. It is, however, the medium group among the ten leading automakers that developed its positions more strongly than the three largest ones among the world market leaders.

Finally a new report identifies the role of China as leading production location of the worldwide automobile production. This report faces the worldwide automobile production without China since 2007 with the development of auto production in China itself. The result proves that the worldwide auto production has been growing outside of China only by 4% since 2007, which means almost stagnation, while automobile production in China more than duplicated.
