“Cinematique” EP By No Audible Dialogue & Pardus Blacke

Written by admin on Aug 31st, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

With its moody and melancholic opening chords, Cinematique‘s first track ‘A Sense Of…’ immediately grabs the attention of the listener with its warm swells and soaring strings that shift from left to right and create a sonic comfort blanket.

It’s the ideal way for the album to establish itself, giving a comforting sense of what might might be coming up next, and the track itself manages to not only work well as an introduction, but also carries its own narrative with it – one of journeying, travelling, heading towards a clear goal with a strong sense of determination. After those three short minutes are over, we’re moving straight into ‘Through Tragedy’, a brooding and bristling track that begins with its warm brass swells that provide a depth and a foundation for the higher melody to sit atop. There are shades of Clint Mansell to be found here, but with a stronger sense of hope as the track progresses, before finally fading out to a close in a way that feels like a heartbeat finally coming to an end. ‘Through The Fire’ keeps the drama going, with its lonely opening horn that is reminiscent of a distant  boat at sea. The strings begin to move in to place, swelling and soaring, like a flock of birds swirling in the skies and creating a kind of musical rendition of a starlings murmuration that shifts and changes before we get the chance for it to settle into any one specific shape.

“insistence and defiance continues to run through the album as though the concept is a very part of its DNA”

Yet again, the insistence and defiance continues to run through the album as though the concept is a very part of its DNA, with its shifting chords and notes that are often unexpected, suddenly changing direction at the moment you feel you have been led in another direction. The sense of defiance becomes solidified in the track that is so aptly titled – ‘Defiance’ stands tall and strong, almost monumentally in a way that tells all around ‘this is who I am, you need to pay attention now’. It’s a track that stands out on the album as being that bit more different, with its arpeggios and melodies that wander and swirl in different directions. The instrumentation feels free and able to be expressive, all the while being firmly anchored with its deep bass notes that create a depth, weight, and gravity to the song’s construction. ‘The World Below’ moves in an altogether more curious direction, with its synth choir voices that call and cry out with an almost religious feel. It’s as though, at times, we could have stumbled into a cathedral or monastery. There’s an intimate feeling here which again helps the track to stand out on the album as unique, while sitting firmly part of the rest of the music. Cinematique comes to its conclusion with ‘Now That You’re Here’, with its thin, wistful strings that play out their melancholy filled melody. As we find ourselves at the end of this journey, it’s possible to look back and reflect on where we have come from, what we have passed through, and consider where we have been brought to. As the final piano notes play, it’s a restful place of peace we have been led to, and the album comes to its end with a full sense of satisfaction.

Raul Zamudio in conversation with Alexis de Chaunac

Saturday, September 26, 2015, 6 – 7 PM

Brooklyn, NY, August 28, 2015 – ART 3 is proud to announce the exhibition of works on paper by Alexis de Chaunac, a rapidly rising American-Mexican-French artist. A Dance with Life and Death will be on view at ART 3 gallery, 109 Ingraham Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, from September 16 to October 25, 2015, Wed-Sat 12-6 PM, Sun 1-6 PM. The opening will take place on Wednesday, September 16, from 6-9 PM.

The works on exhibit in A Dance with Life and Death are set against a backdrop of intuitions and insights drawn from mythology, anthropology and medical sciences. Creating syncretic works derived from his own quest for identity (with sources in New York, Mexico and Paris), Alexis de Chaunac searches out artifacts from different cultures for archetypal links between the personal and the historical. An almost archival interest reveals itself not only in his collection of medical instruments and other science-based objects – alluding to birth – but in different histories he traces across media. In the three series of new works on view at ART 3, the artist excavates the 1911 edition of the French treatise on embryology and human anatomy (originally published in 1899); recreates the naturally mummified expressions of 1833 cholera victims from Guanajuato; and translates the architectural sublimity of Pre-Columbian statuary into festive images celebrating Mexico’s sense of the sacred.

A Dance with Life and Death is haunted by a sense of being on the cusp: of the potential actuating into the real, then finally dissolving into quiescence. In Traité d’Anatomie Humaine, de Chaunac’s reworking of P. Poirier and A. Charpy’s 1911 treatise of the same name, one notes how their meticulously diagrammatic pages detailing the emergence of embryos into form transmogrifies into meditation on how the human face becomes recognizable within the womb, distinguishing itself from animalistic figurations. Composed mainly of autonomic responses internally related to the text’s scientific content, de Chaunac builds from the Traité as though its pages were bricks, respecting the intentionality of each century-old page while mimetically retracing the graduated complexity of cellular development each page describes. De Chaunac renews his interest in the origins of modern medicine, which produced new anatomic concepts that are still applied today in facial rejuvenating procedures and facelifts.

De Chaunac’s Anthropology series delves into the idea of a lost civilization, such as that of the Maya who achieved their historic peak only to suddenly disappear. Following a particular intuition of traditional iconography and how it relates to archetypal patterns of experience, the Mexican holiday known as the Day of the Dead is just one element that plays in the foreground of these celebratory works. The artist deliberately renders death in terms of joyful atmospherics, underscoring how death gifts life with its defining end without which life would lose its earthly meaning.

Similarly Polyptych – The Last Supper, de Chaunac’s reworking of the centuries-old Christian iconography, realizes something utterly contemporary that shades into the sacral. Portraying faces of the naturally mummified bodies of people who died in a cholera epidemic in 1833 in Mexican Guanajuato, Polyptych – The Last Supper shows the last breath on each visage, fixed in the final expression as the dying person approaches the threshold of oblivion for all eternity.

A Dance with Life and Death is an inquest into origins, against which the mythical provides an essential backdrop. Inspired by the fact that science can now modify what a century ago it could only describe, Alexis de Chaunac went on to include in his exhibition at ART 3 a few mixed-media objects making a reference to a cabinet of curiosities and alluding to the material conditions that bring life into the world. They reference the timeliness of the instruments that accomplish this as well as the substrate of mortality that transcends knowledge. Ultimately, de Chaunac draws out the nascence of time as though it were a topological line, a tight wire act where life locks with death in an eternal dance.

The exhibition’s three bodies of work:

 Traité d’Anatomie Humaine (2013-2015)

50 watercolors on original book pages from the 1911 edition of Le Traité d’Anatomie Humaine published by P. Poirirer and A. Charpy, Paris, France. The first edition of Le Traite d’Anatomie Humaine dates from 1899.

+ 6 mixed media objects.

Anthropology (2014-2015)

10 works on handmade paper and 1 on raw canvas: oil stick, acrylic, watercolor, ink

Polyptych – The Last Supper (2015)

13 oil stick works on paper

Alexis de Chaunac was born in New York, NY in 1991 and raised in Mexico City and Paris. He grew up surrounded by art and culture, drawing in the studio of his grandfather – renowned Mexican artist José Luis Cuevas. He then lived for ten years in Paris immersed in European culture only to return to the US to study at the Sarah Lawrence College, NY. Represented by ART 3 Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, this rapidly up-and-coming artist already had two museum solo exhibitions: at the Pinacoteca Diego Rivera in Xalapa (2015) and at the Museo Iconografico del Quijote in Guanajuato (2014), both in Mexico. His work was also featured in DRAW, the largest contemporary drawing exhibition at the Museo de la Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico in 2010 (curated by Erik Foss, Curse Mackey and Miguel Calderon). Alexis de Chaunac lives and works in New York City and Paris, France.

2016 Election Cycle Brings Experienced Law Firms Opportunity To Make Big Bucks In Colorful Corruption Cases

Written by admin on Aug 28th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

San Francisco –  With the Age of Transparency, the rise of digital news and public approval of Congress at an all time low, Donald Trump discovered that the public will finally pay attention to politics if it has a bit of drama and color.

The public loves its public policy with a side of ham. A good Lois Lerner hit-job scandal, infidelity intrigues, mysterious email servers and technology bribes will bring the public out in droves.

Now, big law firms can ride the wave of public interest, in public policy, by taking on colorful public policy and anti-corruption cases. The PR value, in modern connected media, can sometimes be higher than their percentage of the contingency awards.

As shown at the website , politicians are never at a loss to do bizarre, creepy, things in order to maintain cash and power. The public eats up the after-effects like bees on honey.

One enterprising group, of potential Plaintiffs, has gathered other potential Plaintiffs in order to, both, aggregate opportunity and source litigation partners.

At their website link:

They are offering a pretty nifty package for a big firm with some entrepreneurial spirit and top Fortune 1000 adversary skills.

Top federal cops, plaintiffs own private investigators, Senate staff, top journalists and whistle-blowers have spent millions of dollars, and tens of thousands of hours, gathering devastating evidence against the Defendants. Now they are ready to “bring the pain”.

Big names are involved in the case, and judging by the list of possible Defendants, a proper large law-firm could pick from among an excellent array of juicy targets. All of these targets got themselves in quite a bit of trouble by engaging in overt crimes, without realizing they were under sophisticated surveillance.

The cases involve substantial embezzlement activates by high-level federal officers working with criminally corrupt company executives. When federal investigators asked some of the Plaintiffs to cooperate with their investigations, Defendants contracted hit-jobs on the Plaintiffs. The Defendants used state, and federal, cash and resources for these hit-jobs, so the Plaintiffs expanded the opportunity pool.

Law-firms who are willing to take on these cases are sought. Plaintiffs are seeking contingency or contingency/hybrid arrangements. Quite a bit of work has already been done and is Bates Stamped and on file in multiple state, federal and expert locations.

Venue opportunities include Texas; Washington, DC; California; Michigan; Utah and any European venue for the defamation portions of the cases. News mention and social media PR for the law firms undertaking these cases is estimated, by branding experts, at over a million dollars in value.

If your law firm is a qualified litigation leader, contact the Plaintiffs group at:

First World Congress on Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders Presents Important Research Findings and Fosters Collaboration Among Scientific and Clinical Investigators From 38 Countries

Written by admin on Aug 28th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

The Tourette Association of America, in collaboration with its international partners, The European Society for the Study of Tourette Syndrome (ESSTS) and Tourettes Action UK, have released for public use key findings from the 1st World Congress on Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders, which was held in London, June 24 through 26, 2015. These discoveries will advance our knowledge and ability to treat these neurodevelopmental conditions, which affect 1 in 100 children as well as a significant number in of adults in the United States.

More than 430 research scientists, physicians, neurosurgeons, psychologists, social workers and other experts from 38 countries and six continents gathered for the international meeting to present and discuss research in all areas, including drug development, genetics, comorbid conditions, surgical therapies and behavioral treatments for children and adults living with Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders. This unprecedented global assembly marked the first time a collective forum of such size and significance has ever been convened to explore means of improving the lives of people affected by these neurodevelopmental conditions.

Leading experts in the field made history as they laid the foundation for a new global workforce focused on Tourette and Tic Disorders research, presenting 185 scientific abstracts and 161 posters with important   discoveries and developments that have the potential to change our understanding of these conditions. A comprehensive library of research abstracts from the Congress is available at:

“The 1st World Congress on Tourette Syndrome and Tic Disorders saw the largest gathering and networking of clinicians, scientists and other experts in the history of these conditions,” said Kevin McNaught, Ph.D., Executive Vice President, Research and Medical Programs, Tourette Association of America. “Notably, discoveries and development in most—if not all—areas of study were presented and discussed among researchers from the 38 countries represented at the Congress. We hope that this global collaboration and momentum will grow in the years ahead as we seek to increase understanding and develop effective treatments for Tourette and related conditions.”

Research topics ranged from investigations of the therapeutic use of cannabis to control Tourette and Tic Disorder symptoms, to analysis and new data exploring a variety of deep brain stimulation therapies, to new developments in Tourette Syndrome genetics and a host of other topics.

“The Congress allowed for a meaningful and dynamic discourse on novel treatments and therapies that will pave the way for ideas and strategies for years to come,” said Marc Scullin, M.A., Tourette Association of America, one of the Congress organizers.

Treatment options in the digital age were among the topics explored at the Congress, including those discussed by Dr. Douglas Woods, psychologist at Texas A&M University and co-chair of the Tourette Association of America Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Woods presented findings from clinical trials designed to improve existing Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) options through TicHelper, an innovative computer program that empowers children and adults to recognize and manage their tics.

Other highlights include (For Full Library Click Here):

Dr. Mort Doran, who was anonymously profiled by Dr. Oliver Sacks in his book An Anthropologist on Mars, was a riveting keynote speaker, and the dance company Ballet Rambert performed Awakenings, in honor of Dr. Sacks’ best-selling novel of the same name.

John Walkup, M.D. Professor of Psychiatry, the Vice Chair of Psychiatry, and Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, delivered the first Dr. Oliver Sacks Lecture, which was a state of the art presentation on current, and likely future, treatments for Tourette and related disorders.

Other presenters included Jess Thom, writer, artist and “part-time superhero,” who gave a voice to the individuals and families affected by Tourette as she spoke about her experience living with the disorder.

World Congress awards included the Dr. Oliver Sacks Award for Excellence in Tourette and Tic Disorders, presented to Jonathan W. Mink, M.D., PH.D., Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. The Professor Mary Robertson Award for Research Contribution was presented to Christos Ganos, M.D., from University College London Institute of Neurology.

Attendees also learned about upcoming research projects funded by the Tourette Association Research Grants and Fellowships Program. Since the Grants and Fellowships Program was formed in 1984, the Association has awarded over $21 million to 250 scientists working in basic scientific and clinical TS research. Projects funded have provided crucial insights into many areas of the disorder and encouraged investigators to become or to remain involved in pursuing Tourette research.

As a result of the World Congress, the Tourette community now has public access to the largest and most comprehensive compilation of TS research in the world, and is poised to move forward toward better clinical, psychological and cultural understanding of this commonly under-diagnosed neurodevelopmental disorder.

The first Global Advocacy Summit held on June 24, provided patient advocacy and support organizations from around the world an opportunity to discuss strategies for helping those affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders. The day-long workshop focused on quality-of-life issues including: the global impact, awareness and understanding of Tourette and Tic Disorders; supporting families; using technology creatively; advocating for children in schools and for adults in the workplace and society; and global support and collaborations.

About Tourette and Tic Disorders

Tourette is part of a spectrum of hereditary, childhood-onset, neurodevelopmental conditions referred to as Tic Disorders. These conditions affect both children and adults, causing them to make sudden, uncontrollable movements and/or sounds called tics (e.g. head bobbing, arm jerking, shoulder shrugging and grunting). Non-tic features, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning difficulties, often develop in affected individuals.  Symptoms in Tic Disorders can range from mild to severe and, in some cases, can be self-injurious, debilitating and markedly reduce quality of life. While some treatments are available for people with Tourette and other Tic Disorders, approaches to care are inconsistent, medications are often ineffective and there is no cure. Recent studies show that up to 1 in 100 school-aged children in the U.S. have Tourette Syndrome or other Tic Disorders.

About the Tourette Association of America

Founded in 1972, the Tourette Association of America is dedicated to making life better for all individuals affected by Tourette and Tic Disorders. The only nationwide organization serving this community, the Association works to raise awareness, fund research and provide on-going support.  The Association directs a network of 32 Chapters and more than 80 support groups across the country.  For more information on Tourette and Tic Disorders, call 1-888-4-TOURET, visit, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Free Joint Webcast Examines Implications and Challenges of New Revenue Recognition Guidance Released by FASB

CANTON, Mass. – August 27, 2015 – Enterprise revenue recognition specialists SOFTRAX invite business finance and compliance professionals to join its upcoming webcast, “ASC 606 – Preparing for the New Revenue Standards”, featuring experts from Atlanta-based tax, audit, and business advisory firm HA&W, LLP.

Released last year, FASB’s ASC 606 standard streamlines existing revenue recognition for U.S. companies and brings U.S. GAAP into closer alignment with international accounting rules. However, these new regulations will also require many organizations to change the way they recognize and report their revenues, impacting processes, systems, and resources. And even with recent delays in effective date, businesses only have a limited — and rapidly closing – window in which to prepare for the necessary changeover.

This free webcast looks at FASB’s new revenue rules and their implications for U.S. companies, as well as how businesses can help their financial systems get ready for the transition. The event will be presented by Ramon Scheffer (Director of Financial Reporting Advisory Services, HA&W) and Jagruti Solanki (Audit Manager, HA&W).

The live webcast will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EDT / 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM PDT. More information can be found on the webinar registration page.

“ASC 606 – Preparing for the New Revenue Standards” is designed for managers and executives seeking a deeper understanding of ASC 606 as their organizations make plans to adopt this new standard. Complete attendance of this webcast qualifies registrants for one CPE credit. Contact us at for more information.

Entytle to share how customers are seeing a 50% increase in revenue from existing customers in as little as 3 months.

San Francisco, CA, August 27, 2015 Entytle will be at Dreamforce September 15-18, 2015 in San Francisco, CA to demo their Entytle Automation System, a cloud-based solution that proactively analyzes existing customer data and behavior to uncover just the right customer opportunity at just the right time.  Entytle’s SaaS will enable companies to anticipate their customers’ needs and pre-empt service-related issues.

With thousands of customers and hundreds of products, most sales organizations do not have the time or tools to pinpoint the timing of aftermarket revenue opportunities with existing customers.  There is simply no easy way to analyze customer data at just the right time, for just the right customers.  Yet according to an article in Forbes,1 there are plenty of reasons to make that extra effort:

  • A 5% increase in customer retention can result in 75% greater profitability.
  • It costs five times more to acquire new customers than to retain existing customers.
  • Aftermarket products and services typically have higher profitability than the original equipment, thereby boosting bottom lines of companies that do this well.
  • Predictive and proactive selling will prevent customer downtime.

Entytle invites Sales and Aftermarket Services Executives from B2B manufacturers to booth W114 at Dreamforce to discuss the installed base revenue opportunity.  Key members of the Entytle team will be on-site starting on Tuesday, September 15th at 12:00 p.m. to share their findings regarding aftermarket services as an untapped source of revenue for many B2B suppliers, especially manufacturers.

Anark Enables Enterprise to Supplier Collaboration

Anark Enables Enterprise to Supplier Collaboration within 3D
PDF MBE documents with Release of Anark Core Server 4.4

Anark Core 4.4 enables adhoc and planned “conversations” using the free Adobe Reader

Boulder, CO – August 26, 2015: Anark Corporation, leading provider of Model Based Enterprise (MBE) and Visual Communication software solutions, announced today that it has extended its industry leading 3D PDF Technical Data Package (TDP) and 3D PDF Model Based Enterprise (MBE) publishing capabilities to include managed Enterprise to Supplier Collaboration (conversations) on the back of the PDF open standard and the free Adobe Reader.

As further confirmation that Anark Corporation is the leader in the deployment of true production-quality 3D MBD (Model Based Definition) data to the downstream consumers of that data, Anark has developed a unique, innovative and powerful collaboration backbone enabling Enterprises to easily communicate and collaborate with their vast and varied manufacturing and supplier networks.

One of the new Anark Core Server 4.4 capabilities extends the “2D and 3D Markup and Commenting” capabilities available within the free Adobe Reader (already installed on 98% of the world’s computers) with Anark Core Server’s new automated ability to extract, collate and store markups and comments within the enterprise’s existing PLM or ERP data repositories.

Anark can then organize and distribute the PDF comments in many different but important ways unique to each enterprise’s specific needs and processes, such as per contract, per document, per supplier, per submission timestamp etc. Those comments and their associated meta-data are retrievable and viewable by the appropriate recipients of those markups and comments.

“Anark has created a powerful but extremely flexible collaboration capability which allows anyone in the Enterprise to launch a trackable, auditable, archive-able and retrievable “conversation” with any organization and/or person in the extended manufacturing and supplier network,” said Stephen Collins, President and CEO of Anark Corporation.

“Other collaboration solutions provided by most PLM and ERP Software Companies, manufacturers and suppliers in the extended manufacturing network require special access through PLM or ERP user accounts, and must purchase proprietary (and expensive) 3D viewing and collaboration software provided by that PLM or ERP Software Company,” Collins continued.

Anark has worked closely and confidentially with one of their major Aerospace and Defense Customers (and in particular with their Strategic Leaders in Aerospace for Engineering Operations) to define and refine the new Anark Core Server 4.4 Enterprise to Supplier Collaboration capabilities.

“With our deployment, we have been able to assemble and distribute complete multi-document PDF TDPs in accordance with MIL-STD-31000 3D TDP and DOD CDRL requirements including a XML based PLCS (STEP AP239) manifest which completely defines the content of the PDF TDP and allows for automated disassembly and intelligent document distribution,” said one of the company’s Strategic Leaders for Aerospace Engineering Operations.

Specific to the new Anark Core Server 4.4 capabilities are:

  • Advanced PDF TDP Management–allowing for automated PLM and ERP workflow driven assembly and disassembly of multi-document PDF TDPs and their associated human-readable and machine readable manifests (aka the TDP table of contents and attached document types).
  • Dynamic Data Markings for Release Control–allowing for the automatic application (and removal) of release status, authority, distribution notices and watermarks to PDF documents that have already been published and approved in a previous work flow step.
  • Supply Chain Management Collaboration–allowing for the automatic extraction, collation and storage of comment and mark-up data that was applied to PDFs (2D or 3D), to manage supply chain communications.
  • Paginated Table Rendition–allowing for tables of data (such as EBOM, MBOM, Procurement lists & tables of associated engineering, manufacturing and supplier metadata) of arbitrary length to be formatted and rendered as multiple PDF pages (together with the 3D PDF data) using standard Adobe PDF “Acroform” templates.

These new Anark Core Server 4.4 capabilities are perfect for automating workflows which in the past were highly manual, multi-discipline, time consuming and pen- and paper-based.

For example this typical supplier bid process can now be easily and cost effectively automated and deployed:

  1. The OEM’s Engineering department releases their 2D and 3D PDF Engineering document(s) to Supplier Procurement.
  2. Procurement then assembles additional supplier specific documents, standards and other contract documents to create a complete PDF TDP bid package. Each 2D and 3D PDF document within the PDF TDP is then automatically watermarked as “For Preliminary-Collaboration” using Anark Core Server.
  3. Procurement provides the unique PDF bid packages to each supplier in the bidding process through their secure data distribution portal, or through encrypted email.
  4. Each supplier then disassembles their unique 3D PDF bid documents and distributes them to the domain experts in their respective departments (e.g. manufacturing, tooling, QA, legal etc.)
  5. Each of the supplier’s domain experts “Mark-up and Comment” on their specific TDP PDF documents using the free Adobe Reader. For example manufacturing might identify areas for clarification or request for Engineering changes to the 3D PDF Engineering documents while legal requests contract clarification or language changes.
  6. These marked-up TDP bid documents are then sent back to the OEM’s Procurement department.
  7. Back at the OEM’s Procurement department, the mark-ups and comments are automatically extracted, collated, stored and distributed to the appropriate organizations within the Enterprise using Anark Core Server.
  8. Only those bid documents which have changed, are resubmitted to Procurement and a new TDP bid package is reassembled. All “For Preliminary-Collaboration” watermarks on all PDF documents (old and new) are replaced with “For Final Bid” using Anark Core Server.
  9. Anark Core Server may be integrated with all popular PLM and SCM software systems, for workflow-driven engineering release publishing and supply chain collaboration.

Sherman Oaks Hospital Opens Its New Facility – The Center for Reconstruction & Wound Healing: Offers Advanced Wound Care, Hyperbaric, Resonstruction & Vascular Services. Welcomes New Medical Director.

Written by admin on Aug 27th, 2015 | Filed under: Press Releases

Sherman Oaks, Calif. (August 27, 2015) – Sherman Oaks Hospital (SOH) announced today the grand opening of a facility that specializes in the treatment of wounds, using the most advanced healing techniques. Formerly named the Amputation Prevention Center®, The Center for Reconstruction & Wound Healing (“The Center”) utilizes a comprehensive approach in the assessment and evaluation of wounds through various treatment modalities including mechanical debridement, advanced vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, hyperbaric medicine, and plastic and reconstructive surgeries.

The Center for Reconstruction & Wound Healing integrates the expertise of wound specialists in the medical management plans as appropriate. This multispecialty approach in the treatment and care of complex wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, traumatic wounds, pressure ulcers, wound infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and cancer treatment related wounds optimizes wound healing. The Center is led by its Founding Medical Director, Som Kohanzadeh, M.D., a fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in the management of complex wounds and hand reconstruction.

The Center has seven (7) individual private consultation and treatment rooms, a vascular laboratory suite, and two (2) state-of-the-art monoplace (single-person) hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. The medical services are complemented by experienced, highly qualified nursing personnel to make your treatments safe and as comfortable as possible. Advanced treatment modalities performed include negative pressure wound therapies, surgical revascularization, bioengineered skin substitutes, and healing-centric medical, reconstructive surgical interventions.

Dr. Som Kohanzadeh, Medical Director of The Center for Reconstruction & Wound Healing at SOH says, “Successful outcomes are derived from a multidisciplinary approach, with an emphasis on limb preservation for patients at risk for limb loss. Our dedicated and skilled foot and ankle surgeons, vascular and general surgeons, along with reconstruction and hyperbaric medicine experts bring about the best results for all patients. Although not every patient can be guaranteed a positive outcome, our diversity of experiences and dedication to excellence sets our Center apart.”

While The Center treats various types of complex wounds, diabetic foot ulcers are among the most common. About 15-20% suffer from diabetic neuropathy, and of these 10% will develop foot ulcers; which are one of the most frequent causes of hospitalization and amputation among individuals suffering from diabetic complications, affecting approximately two percent of all patients with diabetes.

“The addition of two new hyperbaric oxygen chambers dramatically enhances the hospital’s wound care capability. Adding inpatient and outpatient oxygen therapy services, Sherman Oaks Hospital is pleased to offer additional healing services for people in the greater San Fernando Valley who need this advanced mode of care,” says Bockhi Park, CEO of Sherman Oaks Hospital. “Our goal is to provide a truly comprehensive and cohesive care by coordinating multiple wound-related medical specialties under one roof for the convenience of our patients and streamline their care experience.”

Anyone with a wound that has not improved with traditional or conventional treatment methods may benefit from a visit or consultation at The Center. A physician referral is not needed to make an appointment. To schedule, please call (818) 205 – 1995 or visit for more information.
